Year 3 to 4

Year 3

This term the Year 3’s are learning about Fairy tales in Literacy. We have even had the chance to write our own mixed up Fairy tale. We will also be making our very own Fairy tale characters house. We are also studying Life and Living in Science and we will be growing our own plants.

Year 4

The Year Fours have hit the ground running and are already busy learning about lots of new topics this year! During the first three weeks, we learnt about the Aboriginal culture and how they were the very first Australians! We have now moved onto learning about The First Fleet and the journey that the English settlers made into Sydney Cove in 1788. We have been discovering new facts every day about the ships they sailed on and about the convicts they brought over with them. Did you know that some of the convicts were eight years old, just like us?

On Friday 8 March we are looking forward to going on our first Year Four excursion to the Maritime Museum - Shipwreck Galleries. We are going learn about the Batavia, the Duyfken and are going to uncover tales of exploration, survival, mutiny and rebellion as we trace the extraordinary voyages of the spice traders, and the race to discover the Great South Land.
